For 40W LED applications that require a constant 12V source and dimming capability, the Magnitude electronic line of Class 2 UL Listed LED drivers is an ideal choice. They are designed to operate with any standard MLV/Incandescent TRIAC (Leading Edge) dimmer switch. The engineering provides smooth dimming that will dim down to zero with most TRIAC dimmers. This feature makes for a fast and cheap installation for both new and retrofit jobs, as there are less wires then 0-10V dimming, and as mentioned there are over 150 million TRIAC dimmers already installed in North America. Plus, TRIAC dimmers are far less expensive than 0-10V dimmers; here is a list of compatible dimmers. The shell of the driver is rugged and made from black powder-coated aluminum, designed for wet and salty conditions (IP67). At under 1-inch tall the size is very compact and a perfect choice for under cabinet lights, tape lights and various 12V LED fixtures. There are mounting feet when needing to secure the driver or those feet can be removed.
