This piece is made using the electroforming process, a metal forming process that involves electrodeposition of unformed sterling silver on a model, known in the industry as a mandrel. In essence, the artist builds a thick skin of silver into a rigid surface, enabling the designer to add significant dimensionality and texture to the design.
